I just watched Fear and Loathing in Las Vegas last night, and that movie seemed very long. There was 5 different occasions where I thought it was about to end. Great movie though.
I sat through all the Godfather movies - not at once, though. The second one barely had anything going and was incredibly boring. I think it was the second one. The one that's one big flashback.
I sat through 6 Star Wars at once with me m8s. You can guess how it went by the 5th and 6th film.
Pretend not to care about anything, but be bothered by everything.
You may be fast on the roads but it's no use on the track.
Once Upon A Time In America is the longest film that I've ever watched. It clocks at about 3 hours and 45 minutes if I remember correctly and hilariously enough, there's even a break screen on the DVD that appears after about two and a half hours.
I didn't even like the film all that much. I felt that it was really pushing its run time with a bunch of incredibly slow and pointless scenes. For example, there's this one scene with an elevator that comes down which takes like two full minutes. Just an elevator coming down...
2001: A Space Odyssey is the very definition of a long-ass movie. It takes forever to get through.

How about Berlin Alexanderplatz.
Over 14 hours long.
Das Boot hits 5 hours in it's longest form, although the most common version only runs about 3 1/2. Lawrence of Arabia is the same area, runs just shy of 3 hours 40 minutes if you include the intermission., closer to 3 1/2 with out. Dr Mabuse, der Spieler runs for 4 1/2, but is split into two parts. I think Seven Samurai is almost 3 1/2, too.
Honestly though, unless something is hitting 4+ it's probably not worth mentioning, since I don't think that's an unreasonable time for a film to run, provided it's got enough going on to warrant it. The problem is when you get films like Peter Jackson's King Kong remake, which is over 3 hours long in the theatrical cut, and even longer in the Director's version, which is preposterous length of time when your film is about a giant ape punching dinosaurs.

2001 barley tops two hours.
Lincoln was pretty long. It was like 2 hours and 40 minutes. It was good, though. I think LOTR is much longer, though. The uncut version of Lincoln may give it a run, though.

The length really killed that movie. There is no goddamn reason in the world that a King Kong movie should be 3 hours.
I was so damn tired when I got out of the theater.
The restored version of Metropolis was about 2 hours and 28 minutes.
Not terribly long compared to some other things, but still long.

I couldn't do the second one, it just didn't really engage me.
Reading the book seems shorter than watching both in one sitting.

You're both mad, Part 2 is incredible, and far and away the best in the series.
All the dialog in movies makes them seem longer
Are you not Entertained ?!?
The Dark Knight was only 3 hours but shit, the first time I saw it it felt like the longest thing. There were at least 3 points where I thought it was about to get wrapped up.
You look nice today.

Cereal is pretty cool. If you're cool you'll add me on Steam. Also, Letterboxd.

If the movie is good it's forgivable. I likes lord of the rings so I had no problem watching them. If the movie drags on like the last twilight film did then it doesn't matter if it's 120 minutes or 30.
I watched the extended version of the Good the bad and the ugly and it was around 3 hours long but I didn't care cause it was such a good movie. Good enough that I wished it was longer.
Harry Potter movies always felt long to me. I remember going to see Order Of The Phoenix and feel asleep almost through the whole thing. I read the book (Hell I read all of them) so I wasn't pissed if I missed any good parts.
