Seriously though, there is nothing more traumatic and sad than watching a loved one die. You'd think medical professionals and hospitals would be a bit more mindful of how the whole situation could be handled, but I guess they just grow detached from that human pain.

I've had a few family members die over my lifetime, but I never felt any terrible grief, mostly because they were on the verge of it for a while so it was expected and that I didn't really know him/her that well.
I cried when Trondr Nefas died but not when my uncle died.
