Hey, I started and finished something on the same day!
This is a drawing of a character created by Poliip for a contest she's hosting on DA.

If there's one area where it really pays off to play around with the brush settings, it's creating clouds/smoke.
Even when you're not going for fully realistic smoke there's a great benefit from this.
The most important options here are 'Shape dynamics' and 'Scattering'.
Note: You still have to paint multiple layers to get gradation from light to dark. In the last example I used a 'brush tip shape' that had a little texture, the first two only use a round brush shape.

The center is actually the only place that ISN'T clouds, the clouds are top and bottom, like you're in between two layers of them.
Once every few millenia, the correct stars align and I actually finish something worth showing:
So while watching Underworld I got the desire to draw a valentine - themed dress, hopefully I'll have this done by Friday.
Nice design, I'll be rooting for you.

Hey thanks!
I pushed myself a little more and did the linework today:
Loving the intricate designs on the dress. One quick thought about the lines on the shoulder area is that I'm seeing a peculiar shape overlap illusion taking place. Is the strap twisting?

I'm not quite sure how to explain it, but I will say this - this is one of the rare drawings in which the girl I draw does not have any shoulder pads, her shoulders are flexing forwards and upwards.
I... er.. may have to work on that a little. Poses have never been a very strong point of mine.
Technically these are no longer drawings, nor am I looking for feedback. Is this grounds to start a new thread?
