help a new animator using Flas pro

can anyone on here help me with issues im having with flash pro(CS5.5)?
Everytime I draw something a blue rectangle forms around it.
Also the bone tool will not work and the paint bucket will not fill in. I changed it to large gap but nothing.. help
did i turn on some setting that i cant find?

You did: Object Drawing ...you can break it apart by pressing Command or Option+B and turn it on & off by clicking the option on the tools panel (or pressing the J-Key).
