How often do you hear foreign languages where you live? If so, what kind of foreign languages and which one of them do you like hearing the most, because of its pleasantness?

I live in California so of course I hear a lot of Spanish in my city and my school. I actually woke up to construction workers outside shouting in Spanish. Of course I'll hear Chinese being spoken by my mom and grandparents though, but I'll hear Vietnamese, Mandarin, Cantonese, and the Filipino language occasionally, not too often. I've also heard an African dialect being spoke by a few people here, as there's a sizable Eritrean/Ethiopian population in my city. When I'm down in San Francisco I hear mostly Cantonese, Mandarin, Spanish, and Japanese. The other day I was at a restaurant in San Mateo (in proximity to San Francisco International Airport) and there was a Japanese guy there who kept saying "kawaii" which means cute in Japanese.

I hear European languages on rare occasions, but usually only when I'm in a place with many tourists, which my city lacks. But I've heard languages like German or French I guess, which is pleasant to hear.

I thought there were a lot of immigrants there, from India and whatnot. But maybe you'd know better than me.

That is pretty interesting. I heard that it is difficult to learn german as foreign language.

I remember you mentioning of a large Vietnamese population where you live. I would think because you live in Germany you'd hear a lot of other European languages as well. Do you live in a neighborhood with a much larger Vietnamese population than other parts of your city or something? If so, that's cool.

Ever tried Vietnamese food? It's really good

So what, he has an interest in Asian culture, It's not like he spams, besides, this topic is more about language and communication.

Excluding English, I hear Spanish, some Chinese, and maybe a few others.

More like every week I post at least one thread that involves Asian people, people of Asian descent, an Asian language, an Asian food, an object from Asia, or the countries located within the continent of Asia itself.

That's cool! Ever been to Japan? If not, you should sometime soon, even if people think it's not safe to visit. My aunt resides in Osaka and it's fine there.

Mostly English, though down at the University, due to the large number of international students you'll also Chinese, some Arabic, and at least some of one of the languages spoken in India.
