His knowledge of Fan-fiction isn't absolute, but it's really fucking impressive for a program.

I know right? For an example, my dad wanted to try a character from and anime called Read Or Die tv. Or RODTV for short. And he got that right as well! Damn he is good.

It truly is amazing to see how this show has swarmed the Internet. The question is though is that a good thing or a bad thing. Personally I do like the show for what it is and that it actually puts effort into it and doesn't talk down to its audience.

However the Internet turned it into a meme, there is no doubting this whatsoever, but there are still fans of the show who truly do appreciate the show for what its worth. It's starting to create more than what it is and that's where I believe things start getting awkward.

The reason being is there has been an influx of fan fiction and fan art. Now I have nothing against fan art, hell some of the most creative pieces of work can come from fan art and at times they can turn out really cool. However fan fiction takes a different route in my personal opinion, but if people like it then that's okay by me.

What I find strange though is that the show itself is harmless, but this Internet fanbase is creating a life of its own and that seems to be to be a bit creepy. I might be over exaggerating though, but when I see and hear people talk about buying the dolls and things to put on their desks and collecting them that's when I gotta ask where this Internet fanbase stands at the moment.

If this show dies down and the fad appeal wears off, who will forget about it and move on to the next fad and who will stay and still be a fan of the show?

Trust me, when you've seen the old cartoon and then compare it to the new one,
the increase in quality is MASSIVE.

I would recommened that you go back and watch the old series just for reference.
First of the art style is not attractive at all, bright but not in the crisp way the new series is; very muddied and it doesn't look clear.

i have acutally tried to watch the old generations of my little pony... here are my thoughts.

at first, i just saw the into song of the first genaration. it was god awful and didn't bother with the rest.

then when Friendship is Magic got popular i decided to check the old generations again... THEY SUCK. really badly. voice acting is abyssmal, animation is half assed, story is pathetic. i must say that after you see the shit of what used to be my little pony. you are amazed of how the will and ambition of a single woman changed it into the artistic masterpiece as we know it today. (yes that's right, artisitic masterpiece, no less)

I think some guy named BeanyOne has all of the episodes of "My Little Pony: Friendship Is Magic" on file. There was also a profile by the name of MASTERLINKX and it had most of the episodes but unfortunately it has been taken down. I should have realized that you can never get away with all the episodes on YouTube eventually. If you jsut Google it, you should be able to find other websites with the stuff.

I think it would be an interesting experience actually. I have yet to meet someone in RL that likes the show.

I knew what that episode was in advance and I was still fucking amazed by how good it was. I rarely laugh out loud when watching something, but that episode really got to me.

what do people do in that 'ponycon' anyway? the other fandom conventions like star trek, lord of the rings and stuff like that are full of -no offence- cosplaying nerds that trade some super rare collectibles with each other while trying to quote the show/franchise as many times as possible... would really sadden me if the same would be in that ponycon... especially if it will have cosplayers >...<

Although i would want to go to some sort of convention to interact with other bronies, it would be frightening to see cosplayers ;__;
