Honestly I predict this same thing happening to me in about a year. Parents are getting divorced, and I'm moving half way across the U.S, he's generally a depressed guy with a lot of emotional issues. The difference is that he's done so much to me and my family, I honestly wouldn't care if he killed himself. I find that to be extremely sad.
Sorry for your loss though, losing the ones you love is hard.
