When you collect all the gems for Malor and he lets you ride the light, there is a piece of land stopping you at the top. And on top of that is a monster and some flowers. Is it possible to reach or is it just there for no purpose?
It's there for no purpose, aside from being the place you teleport to if you go for the ending where you have to kill enough creatures with lightning, then talk to the guy who will teach you the teleport skill.

No, the one that teaches you the teleport skill is some green critter-like creature in the lower-left side of the caves (you have to do a bit of climbing to the side to get to him). The blue Santa Claus thing does nothing, and is just another creature you can kill.
