youtube to mp3 converter, most useful online tool an animator could want!

and thanks!

say I wanted to make a full length submission, how many of those 3 second clips do you think I would need, in order to avoid it being "too short"? like 10? 20?

hmmmm, this is one of those things that I probably wouldn't use motion tweens for. if anything, rough it out with brush then have it folow with tween. what you have here looks like it's really viscous and thick, instead of light and watery. this is an interesting exercise, though. try to have the shape really get pointy towards the top of the swing. have the surface of the water break a little bit.

I'm in class now, so I don't have my wacom, but I kind of have a rough drawing of what I mean.

well, I remade the animation from scratch, gave the bowl a better motionpath and animated the water frame by frame (50 frames). I think the result is quite good although it took a hell of a lot longer. I still find it difficult to find the water's breaking point at the top. I still haven't got a natural movement there. On the positive side the water looks a lot more lively and fluid.
thanks a lot for your help.

you can have the flash file as well to see how i did it

Response to Animation Practice!? 2011-04-26 15:09:51

oh sory I cant link the flash file somehow. Aparently it says it is corrupt or misnamed? how do i fix that?

Response to Animation Practice!? 2011-04-26 20:12:03

yeah I can see it, this looks really good. very nicely done. the only weird thing is the first ten frames or so, when the bowl comes back a bit. but that aside this is a big improvement.

looks pretty good. you'll have to play around with the pacing of it. Feels kind of rushed right now. Usually most animatic's are so you'll prolly fix that

I saw this and couldnt get the idea out of my head. so I re imagined it using tweens, it was good practice . credit to rendibsivd.

Hay gaiz. I'm trying to practice easing my fbf animations for more realistic movement. I'm fine with basic figures but once I try anything slightly more detailed, it starts to look choppy. Suggestions?

Thats really good. I like the way you loop the animation. Alsothe frame by frame is nice and smooth

Im working on an animated series at the moment. here is a clip from one
http://www.newgrounds.com/dump/item/8340 c910f247a82457d30ff4fc3143d4

Do you think I will get away with turning the ninja to a silhouette to save time?

Response to Animation Practice!? 2011-05-03 15:20:20

If you want to turn to silhouettes, you need to have the camera angle change, rather than having one object turn black in the middle of a shot.

TWO SOLUTIONS:

-Have the camera zoom out to reveal a foreground made up of more buildings, and have everything but the sky and foreground turn black.

-Suck it up and spend three or four hours actually animating the spin

I recommend solution #1

well from an animation standpoint its pretty good, you do a decent job keeping up with the pace of the movement, but I would suggest adding a few inbetweens in a couple places, just because it getsa alittle hard to follow.. I think a heavier lightweight would also help to better establish the form of the bean. altogether, it looks pretty good, but rough. hope this helps

as for you, the one weakness of tweens is angular changes in character position, aka spinning. while tweens can fug it alittle, you really gonna have to do some redraw. I'd say redraw the torso tuned and the arms foreshortened, then a few different angles of the legs, then you're just gonna have to play around with the keyframes. it may seem daunting, but give it a shot. you dont have to redraw every frame, but your gonna need at least three redraws of each part to acomplish a full circle. if you do it right, it should look pretty good. also experiment with quick camera pans, to give the illusion the camera is moving around the character. there's an example in my shoombot anim above. where the camera wooshes from a side view to a rear view, it's trick, but if done properly, it might have the effect you're going for. hope this helps, good luck
