Personally I could care less about Philly. Tom why dont you move up here in Canada eh? Up in toronto, we always get all your little festivals or whatever you wanted that your mayor didnt care about.

What about the Newgrounds Compound thing, where people would come and live/work/whatever in a big loft/abandoned warehouse/etc?

Is that still on, or is Newgrounds gonna pull out at the last minute, too?

I can see why some people find Philly boring but I love it. We have awesome venues to see concerts at (Electric Factory, Troc, TLA). South Street is really cool. There's a record store on South Street called Oddysey Records (or something like that) and you can find pretty rare CD's in there. I paid $10 for a CKY - Volume 1 with a purple cover which people are offering me about $70 for. The food in Philly kicks ass, period. We also have really cool museums (Please Touch Museum, Franklin Institute, Philadelphia Art Museum, Academy of Natural Sciences).

Plus, fuck the Real World.

id be thanking those unions Tom. After all the Real World is where the whole "reality" trend started. It also was the point at which MTV decided to stop playing music. And you think its bad to have The Real World come to your city hell the whole craptacular company is stationed in mine!

well at least people are interested. can't say that about here... for anyone.

We just had the Real World here in San Diego. They shot it over the summer here. I found out in June. The thing was... it didn't affect me any. I went to the beach almost every day and never saw one of them, I didn't really think about it. If the Real World went to Philly... would it really change anything?

Response to Philadelphia Real World 2004-03-17 20:36:58

The Real World sucks.
MTV sucks.
What's to be upset about?

Hell, if anything, I think you should be GLAD this one fell through.

Teamsters= crying babies... I would say that almost all current unions are there to stand in the way of progress. If you try to play with out them they will stand outside holding signs and cry because they did't get to pick first. Get a life and just go to work you pansies.

I knew they were going to start running out of cities. Can Real World: Fresno be far behind?

I'd also like to point out that MTV always sucked. I'm just glad people are finally noticing.

Not exactly. MTV wasn't ALWAYS bad. There used to be a time when it was good, but that was, like, 13 or something years ago.

Yup, the Real World has pulled out from Philly at the last minute. People spent years trying to bring them here, and now they are gone. Our stupid mayor doesn't even care, of course. Just like when Disneyquest pulled out last minute and left a one block hole in center city. We just can't get a break!

LMAO! Let me get this straight. The teamsters were SO LAZY, that they drove MTV, a cultural powerhouse, out of the whole state!? Oh gotta love those teamsters.
