need help/advice with my xbox

i went on a trip and took my xbox with me. i came back yesterday and tried firing it up and oh noes! cant connect to hardware. i have deducted that it is the ethernet port on my xbox that is the problem. i know this cause

-my router has a ethernet light, its not lighting up like normal
-i took my setup to my friends house. it works for him, even the same cable im using
-i tried my friends M$ wireless adapter on my xbox, it works

so after serchin teh intarwebs for other peoples solutions to the same problem, heres wat i got

-send it in to M$ for 100 dallors + wait.

-buy a M$ wireless adapter.
slightly less garbage, its still gona cost bout the same depending where i get it. problem is i still will have a fucked up box
-become a soldering god in ten minutes and fix it myself with your help.
yeah right ill only make it worse
-something about a ethernet/usb adapter.
maybe if its like 10 bucks

so what do u guys say? any other solutions?

sorry for the double but i forgot to ask if M$ would still repair it if i tampered and failed. my warantys gone so im still paying money.

also tines arent screwed up so its internal

I'd say just get the adapter. If you try to fix it yourself, and fail you end up voiding your warranty so they will refuse to fix it afterward.

Find someone who fixes it cheap.

Buy a PS3.

If you do end up trying to fix it yourself, please post a youtube video of you lighting it on fire and dropping it off a building or something.

wi-fi, you know Wireless internet, there's and attachment you can buy for the 360 that gives it that maybe it'll work

thanks ill look into it. im leaning towards sending it in. based on the fact that my router will work for any console with an ethernet port and ill have a fixed box....or sould i wait for when (not if, tis is M$ we're talking about) it fucks up again? now that i think about it maybe i should buy the wirleess thing....god dam it cant decide!
