Flash Developer that's new to FL! 2010-01-24 00:29:31

I guess this is kindof an introduction thread and a question at the same time. :>

Hey there! I'm Cosmoseth, you might know of some random games I've made here or there.

I love art and drawing, and lately I've started making my own music. It's really quite fun! I've always loved music, I myself own 4 guitars and 3 different sized amps(YEUUUH). Anyways!

Not too long ago I got FL and learned some basics and started adding little beats and song loops i made in games. some examples are:
-Knubs(TBR) : http://www.swfcabin.com/open/1264307367
-Blaze the Ninja: http://www.crazyawesomeyeah.com/play.php ?id=38
-Stickicide4(betaTBR - ingame song is by xenoxx): http://www.swfcabin.com/open/1264307685
-Protect Your Planet: http://www.newgrounds.com/portal/view/51 9602

Also, here are some songs I've made. They probably sound super armature to you super awesome techno guys, but hey, that's what I'm posting here for.
Songs I've put on ng:

306403

306305

305320

224145

281183

Any comments? Critiques? I'm really trying to get better here.
Some problem's I've been having lately(and been wondering if are possible) are:
-assigning different instrements to piao roll at the same time
-fading a pattern in for out
-maybe adding some cool effects to patterns?

What he said. There is nothing special about being a flash developer and musician. Just a matter of learning your music.

I see where my mistake was, sorry for that! I will post that part of my thread in the correct places! :D

...BUT

I still asked some legitimate questions though:
How do you add those awesome effects to a stream of patterns you've made on the main FL timeline? (I have a NOOB FL vocab)

Effects, such as adding a flanger or fading in and out?

Any helpful links on those subjects?

Thanks guys :)

* You can save piano roll melodies as a 'score'. Open up your piano roll with the melody you want to reuse, go to 'file' of the piano roll options (not the one in the upper left corner) and click 'save as score'.

You can now 'open score' at any given time in another pattern.

* You can create fade ins and outs by either adjusting your ADSR envelopes, but there's a more simple way. Rightclick on the volume knob of the channel you want to fade in/ fade out and click 'create automation clip'. Then you'll see it pop up in your playlist and you can alter the volume any way you like! :-)

* You can add effects to sounds by linking them to the mixer channel. Pretty much click on any channel, you'll see a small window with a port on the upper right side. It should read 'FX' right under it. Click and drag up to send it to a mixer channel. You can add effects to the sound on the mixer channel now.

Hope it's not to complicated, if you still need any help feel free to ask, but do so in the FL Studio help thread. Enjoy your stay in the Audio Forums. :-)
