SF4 - Saget is Cheap

First off i'd like to tell anyone who is reading that i am new to the street fighter series and that i've been playing for 3 days.

Is it just me or is Saget an Asshole. I'm new to it so i start on Easiest, and every time i'm against him he spams me with fireballs and his punchs are overpowered. I would understand it happening on medium difficulty but geez, new players will rage quit the game because he's ruthless. I find Seth easier to beat than this fucker. I need to master my Ultra combos but i keep jumping around even tho i'm not pressing up. My Lstick is reatarded. Or it could be me.

Anyway i think Saget is Cheap and just spams the same move over and over again on the easiest difficulty. I want to know if its happening to anyone else or if its my copy of the game

This game is broken the difficulties are spiked up high at the lowest difficulty. I wouldn't suggest buying SF4 if you want a decent fighting game thats abit easier may i suggest Soul Calibur IV. SC4 also has almost triple the amount of characters to pick from.

I will agree with you OP, next to Seth, Sagat is the second most cheap and overpowered character in the game.

You could try the old 'jump in, heavy kick, sweep, jump out' method, but only problem with that is that he may uppercut you.

I find when playing as Ryu (or Ken) against Sagat a good tactic is to jump over him then do two heavy kicks follow by an uppercut.

maybe you just suck at the game? I swear, everytime you whine about SF4, it seems to be a "I can't beat the AI", some people (such as yourself) don't bother trying. the difficulties are fine, you can easily beat an easy computer by just spamming, it's that easy. but of course, you like your simple fighters like Soul Calibur.

Its true soul calibur is simpler but I go with the complicated characters in SC4.

In every single Street Fighter game that Sagat is in, he is the cheapest/highest tier character in the game, next to the final boss character. Just keep playing and you'll learn that he is easy. Or maybe I say this cause I'm a Street Fighter veteran. Who knows.

Sagat's difficulty depends on both your skill and the character using.

Worst case scenario, spam Zangief's lariat.

Best case scenario, practice harder.

Sagat is a little unfair I agree. His fire attack is the fastest projectile in the game from my experience. I still find him awesome to use, he's always been a favorite to me.

I think the best way to defeat saga is to be on the defensive lure him in with a focus+ cancel and if he does tiger upercut or knee he's open to you. lots of characters are cheap in a sense though. Gouki throws hadous like a bitch and vega is just straight up beast when he backflips over revenge specials.
