You know, there was a time when Fallout 3 was doomed because Interplay bit the dust while it was still in their hands, but look what Bethesda did to bring it back. They made Fallout return better than ever even though many people thought it was dead. Another company could buy the rights to Duke Nukem and continue the development.
I wouldn't give up hope yet. Obviously enough people would love to see this game come alive, and there's got to be some game developer smart enough to see that and would want to take advantage of that opportunity.
