So I have a Shure SM-58 microphone that I'd like to get hooked up to this computer. I tried using the Steinberg MI4 interface, but it didn't work. I used the MI4 on my old setup (Using a mac and Cubase SL3) but now I've switched to a laptop. Does anyone have any recommendations for a good, cheap interface? I've looked at a few, but I don't know much about these kinda things.

I have a Twitter that I link to everywhere. ;)

m-audio and line 6 both make solid interfaces for under $200.

Work your way down, as I don't really know what needs you have.

Really, M-Audio might be decent. The more expensive ones are due to the high quality D/A A/D converters, like Apogee.

M-audio is pretty sweet for the price.
