Hi, I felt like giving you all a little idea of what i have been working on lately.

This is a song to the video game, that is scheduled to be released here on newgrounds, on October 7th as part of the Power of 3 event.

The atmosphere of the music in the game is a tricky one, since the characters are larger than the world itself in this game. Each character has their theme during the battles, this being one of them, The Barons theme. He is the villain of the story.

Anyways, much more to come very soon. I just wanted to put this up here for the time being.

Sincerely,

Jamal Corrie

This is great. The only thing I don't really like is how widely everything is panned, I think it's a bit disorienting. On the other hand it makes you feel like you're standing on the director's stand and the orchestra is surrounding you. Correct me if I'm wrong but most of the time don't orchestral producers try to make it sound like you're sitting in the audience? Well here the way you did it actually works very well for the atmosphere you wanted to create, a boss battle. It just sounds a little "stretched" on headphones, and lacking in the middle. I think moving more instruments closer to the middle would make this sound better.

Author's Response:

Hi gregaaron89, thats a good observation.
The thing is, i have been trying to use the panning that is created with symphonic orchestra, because i figured that was the best bet that i could get in having the panning correct.

However you make a good point. Answer this by message, are you using a stereo or headphones when listening to this song?

this works very well as a theme. Wonderful construction, and I especially like the 28 second mark transition and segment. Very ominous.
