Your stages of learning flash.

Since I'm getting back into Flash, hopefully, after using it last around 1999.. I want to know your personal experiences with getting into flash. I don't remember anything at all.
What did you start with? How did you practice, and what was your progression of flash projects that you completed (in timeline order if possible)?
For example, did you practice tweening random objects, then doing some frame by frame stick to get the tools practice you needed to move on to testing your scripting abilities later on with games (and if games, what kind and in what order?)
I'm sorry for the vagueness of this, I just have no idea what to start with. I guess I could always browse all the game genres on NG, and try to reproduce my favorites until later on this year I'd have something worthy of putting through the Portal to get critiqued.
Any and all anecdotes and advice are completely welcomed.
