My CDRW (Combo) disk drive, no longer seems to load certain disks and gives no error, I can't burn anything to disk but some things like industry standard audio cd's do load up, but no home made ones >:C Why is this happening?

There are a lot of things that could cause this. There are some things you can do.
1. Go to any electronics store and buy a cd drive cleaner (shouldn't cost more than a few bucks) this will clean off the laser and maybe solve your problem
2. Make sure the firmware for the driver wasn't corrupted
3. Try using different disks and see if it isn't a problem with your driver but the disks themselves
4. ????
5. PROFIT!

Thank you, I will inquire about the first 2, the disk drive is over 8 years old and thing don't seem to last that long now days :/
You could also think about getting a new cd drive (you could install a new internal one, but I recommend just getting an external DVD burner that goes into a USB or Firewire slot.) They are pretty cheap nowadays. You can probably find one for around 20 bucks.

DVD/CD RW drives don't cost more than 20 to 30 dollars nowadays, so in the worst case scenario it's a minor inconvenience to replace it. Plus, you'd also be giving your computer DVD compatibility.
