From Xbox 360 to PS3?

My friend explained to me how he was all fed up with paying for xbox live, when ps3 has it for free,
blabbering on about "better games on ps3" and "its free" and all that. but then i actually thought about it and had a long miscellaneous conversation about it, how like if he were to switch, almost none of the people he knows has a ps3, pro's and con's, but i don't mind paying for it, just gotta work for the money, but its pretty expensive, the ps3, and just paying about 20 per month for xbox live. isn't that bad compared to buying the ps3 and games and hard drive, and all that other stuff.

worth switching? or staying? :/

well get the ps3 mate. no hidden fees apart from an hdmi cable. no batteries needed, no online wireless adapter needed, no plug n play kit needed, uses most bluetooth headsets...its saves you money. thats why the high initial cost everyone bitches at. some nice games coming out this year. god of war 3, heavy rain, killzone which is meant to be damned fine. the online servers i will admit arent as good as 360, but ur not paying anything. 4 of my mates over christmas have "converted" to ps3 from 360.
they kept their 360 for gears2, and thats it.

I am so tired of hearing the Xbox Live is expensive argument.

I just recently bought a 12+1 prepaid subscription card for $29.97 from Amazon. The sale is over but you can still get 13 months for $38.99 on Amazon.

Even at the higher price that you can get right now from Amazon, you are only paying about $3 per month.

Price really comes down to what you need. For me, it'd actually be more expensive to get a 360 Elite set up than it cost for my PS3, and only £25 to get the 60GB 360 set up.

Also, I personally think the PS3 has a better games line-up. 360 has, what? Gears and Dead Rising? That's all I'd be interested in playing. I'd still choose MGS4, Resistance 2 or Uncharted over either of them, though.

Eh, the consoles are so similar it doesn't matter anyway.

Don't you have to charge the controllers though?

With a cable that comes with the system, you just plug it in though and you can play while it charges and it will still be fully charged when you unplug it later.

I switched to ps3. It was awesome.

I dont think the ps3 is as really about online gaming though.
The only games I play online is mgs and little big planet and theyre both pretty amazing. The experience isnt that different to xbox though seems to be less twats online. Look out for more in the future Killzone 2 is gona be good, i always preferred it to halo.

Also I bought my HD Cable online for 1p plus postage so check that shit on amazon.

PS3s great but the two online FPSes I know are MGO (which im bored of) and reistance 2 which doesnt suit me but Killzone 2 sounds great, nothing we havent played before (its online gameplay is like
TF2/ B:BC style) but its graphics just makes up for it.

I can't stand people who complain about how Xbox Live costs money. For the love of God, it's only $50 per year. If you can't come up with $50 in a year, that's pretty pathetic.
