This one is for the true intellectuals. The upper class. The true art lovers who can see the masterfully hand crafted love that was poured into this piece over the course of 45 minutes! Anyone who says that this piece of music- no, this piece of art is bad is too incompetent to see beyond their own eyeballs. Now, gaze upon my glorious creation!

The Artist’s Vision for the piece

At first, we hear the timid plucks of a string section, representing the fragility of man and delicacy of life. Then, the regal piano enters the picture and adds depth to the piece. It is played as if a chicken was pecking at keys on the piano. This is a perversion of the normal piano’s role in music and reminds us that we humans are not the only creatures on this planet. But Hark! You may ask, “is that a flute I hear?” Listener, it is not just a simple flute, but a vessel of hope that lifts the piece upwards in a direction. Now a more powerful string section comes in and helps the piece build in tension. We then have this absolutely orgasmic crescendo and climactic cymbal crash that reminds us of the triumph of man which leads us on into the new age. The cymbal also imposes the waves of the sea, crashing against the coastline with wild force that can not be tamed. The piano has grown weary, so the brass section takes up the role of the piano, showing camaraderie amongst the musicians and reminding us that when we get tired, there will always be another person to carry on the work that we have done. Finally, the glockenspiel enters the fray with a simple, childlike tune that brings us all back to our youths. The parts of the orchestra fade away, leaving our glockenspiel, the next generation, with nothing but free space to do what they wish.

(thank you to Billy Joel for using the term orgasmic crescendo and TaintedLogic for reminding me of that term in a recent review)
