ye ye

oscillating chords combined with a saw pad created a lot of tension. The short synths and th eportamento strings didnt relieve much of it : )

use of the sax again, its got a pretty nice quality, but with every other patch in this synth pretty much it might sound better with another lead. I liked how the pipe lead matched the vox in the section before it. That sax came out of nowhere in my left ear haha.

Little breakdown was really random in the end, but i liked the groove you had going, with the nano drums. It sounded nice with the voice panning.

This song accurately represents my mood

I was listening to this all last night when I was feeling down. I also like the sound quality here-some of the sounds sound a bit dull, but its perfect for a dark track like this.

I love the experimental dealy in the intro...Love the glitchyish beat and mellow sax, and cheapish organ bits. then the sax melodies become kinda uplifting around 1:30, and there's some cheeriness in the next phrase. Sounds so nice in here. And I love the guitar layed down on top. Excelllent groove. I also love the drums and percussion throughout, and their kinda tinnyish sound. it all works amazing in context here. The end is my favorite part, it portrays such a dark and depressing feel.

Vocals are also very nice. You sound a lot like Maynard from Tool, and even more like Jered Mckenna(myspace or soundclick him).

I'm very sad that you're only 65% done and you lost the files...;_; makes me wanna cry. I think what you've used in the end would be a suitable finish(even tho it doesnt sound entirely complete) if you just faded out the vocals and put some FX to make it interesting.

LOVE THIS CLIP MAN!

snoballandthmonyshot responds:

haha, listening to this prolly didn't help your mood, sorry to prolongue your blues:/
anyways, thanks for listening, glad you enjoyed it

once again i find myself amazed. make a demo, alright.. i think morr would like you, or maybe audio dregs. get a record deal. sounds like mum again.
check out my song my toy robot if you're kind. nice harmony on the singing by the way. guitars great, synths fit well. clarinet adds nice flavor. panning is excellent. full sound. its a crime that this is free.

snoballandthmonyshot responds:

a crime, yes, it is criminal thereby making it a crime... and who is this morr character?
i shall have to check out mum, never heard em but it sounds to me like they've been ripping me off the swine... is that a crime?

Wow.

First off, this is easily the best song I've heard on this site (and from a great number of other places) that I can remember. Maybe its the best I've ever heard. I love the jazzy feel of the horns, the layered electronics, the great bass stuff, the percussion, the voice-everything is pretty much perfect. Its alot of stuff, but its put together perfectly and I really needed to listen to it a couple of times before I felt like I heard everything-and that is what makes a great song in my opinion. You really vary it up too- the beginning is different from the middle and the end is different from the rest. But its not random different, and that really shows how much time you spent on this. Honestly one of the few songs I've felt compelled to put on my ipod and listen to from this site.

I do hate you for not finishing the ending though. :/

Anyways, amazing work. Let me know if you finish this, certainly.

snoballandthmonyshot responds:

wow yourself...
thanks for those words, glad u liked it. won't get finished unless i start it again as i've lost the file for it. is a shame, i like it too but production wise it sounds like shit compared to my last couple, didn't get the opertunity to tweak the production plus i had to use some shatty prog to convert to mp3 and it took a battering, whinge whinge

Pretty smooth

Hey cool. I make a jazzish song, and you happen to have that kind of sound too. This is obviously a lot more laid back though. I really like how it flows. It feels like it goes somewhere to me, which is sometimes a hard quality to find. I feel like I'm exploring somewhere. And it's long, but there's a lot of diversity in here and I could listen to it for quite awhile.

Now, there's a lot going on, but it fits together really well and doesn't really feel chaotic. Good job with that! I really like the voice that comes in later in the track. It's pretty clear actually. I don't like the incomplete ending though D:

Certainly better than my stuff xD Sorry I can't offer my suggestions.

snoballandthmonyshot responds:

jazzish is the way forward, waahgwandemtings
