It’s officially been a year since my breakup, and I’ve been doing a lot of reflecting. It feels like a year has passed so quickly and so slowly at the same time. With everything happening in the world right now, it’s been hard to stay positive.

Emotionally speaking, I’m still recovering. I cried every day the past week, reminiscing over the fondest moments of the relationship. I’ve cried more than I ever have in my entire life this year. Sometimes I feel completely fine. Sometimes, my thoughts spiral into the darkest reaches of my mind and I feel completely hopeless. Every day is different, and I’m learning to embrace the healing process.

I wrote this little song to remind myself that it’s okay not to know how I feel about everything yet. I wanted it to be the last song I wrote about my ex, but while writing it, I realized that it won’t be. Who knows how long it’ll take for me to get back to my old self. I just have to keep going to figure it out.
