The Dragon

I composed this entire track on Rytmik Ultimate, a DAW I purchased about a month or so ago on Steam. If anyone remembers, I used to upload tracks I had finished on the Music Maker Jam software, and I had to take all of those tracks down. (I also did an artist news post about this some years back.) Because MAGIX had license rights to whatever track I completed. Something like that... This time, I made sure to check for licensing issues with Rytmik. There doesn't seem to be any! That is a big relief. I can make music for any purprose I'd want, from what I've read. I'll copy and paste the following in from the Rytmik Studio and Rytmik Ultimate developer team.

"If you are the author of the music, then nothing prevents you from doing so. You can use Rytmik, for example, for making your own album, adding audio to videos, making a soundtrack for a YouTube channel, creating effects and tunes for a computer game, etc. The use of a cover version or a remix of foreign songs is governed by classic copyright. Please note that if you are not the author of the material, then we advise that you request the owner’s permission prior to any commercial usage." With that out of the way, now I can describe about this cool new track I made... In combining some of the dubstep and 8bit beats, basses, FX, and synths, I was able to do a variety of options! I constructed every beat and note, and reverb'd the FX some. I liked that I could pan that really dark and kinda gritty sounding 8-Bit bass and mess around with it. The beat making wasn't hard, but I think coming up with some of the bass lines (even for the very end) was a little tricky. (The bit of panning I did to part of the bass at the 2:08 mark is unlike anything else I've done in the past.) Everything else flowed into place! Lastly, I put this track through the EQ on Audacity, and gave the track a bass boost finishing touch. :D

I'm determined to try making a game from the RPG Maker software! I have a couple of big ideas, and my newer game idea has this large and awful dragon in it. (In picturing his appearance in mind, he's mostly green... I like the image I found.) I have not come up with a name for this character yet, but I know the rest of his breed had been wrongly slayed by humans in the world this dragon resides in. They were too scared and stupid to understand the difference between the different dragon species. So this dragon became so enraged and developed a near passionate hatred towards them. To add, he found himself allied with a world traveling, powerful enabler of a Dark Lord who is truly wicked, and also hates humans.

The FX toward the beginning of the track reminds me of a monster roar, lol. I wanted to make a badass theme for this character - and I did it! I feel accomplished with all the time, effort, and revising I put into producing the music.

Any feedback would be appreciated!

Adventurous tune! :)

Those suite of tools are pretty great on DSi and 3DS too :) The KORG one on Nintendo Switch with the TAITO and SEGA DLC are very sweet. Only downside to the Switch version is you have to record it off the Switch, or use the ipad app which adds too much cost and complexity in my opinion.

SilverFoxJams responds:

I honestly never got the chance to mess with any music makers on DS or 3DS. Been wanting to, but I make do with what I get on the PC.

Thanks for listening!

The production value is pretty high.

SilverFoxJams responds:

Thanks for listening.

call them "Zeal"

SilverFoxJams responds:

Zeal? Hmmm. Thanks for the name idea. I might or might not use it to name the dragon, or the Dark Lord.

Also, thanks for the rating! ^-^
