great song. i would like to hear an enhanced mix.
Metal song about a fisherman who sings about his determination to save the ocean from polution. You'll hear a lot of wuxing elements in this song.
This song is one of 2 remakes of a song I made in 2013 for the first round of ngadm13. That song consisted of a piano part and a metal part. People thought the two parts were too different in mood, that's why I split them up. The piano part I remade back in 2015. It's called Fisherman's Fantasy (water)

There will be 3 more remakes (wood, earth and metal (as in the wuxing element, not the musical style because that will be electro)).
People didn't like the vocoder I used in the first version, so I re-recorded the lyrics and didn't use a vocoder. Doesn't sound great, but it's the best I can do. I think metal vocals shouldn't sound too pretty anyway.
Lyrics:
The blue sea is what I dream of
under an azure sky.
With my rod
I will heal the ocean.
There won't be pollution
Anymore.
A clean earth did I envision.
Beautiful filled with life.
I set out
so to rescue the world.
Mother earth belongs to
Everyone.
But my confidence fades.
I view my reflection.
Love gives birth to doubt and,
doubt results into fear,
fear is fuel for hatred,
hatred for joy,
joy becomes love.
Enjoy. Let me know what you think.
Edit december-2-2019: Worked a bit more on the vocals to make them louder, brighter and the notes purer.
great song. i would like to hear an enhanced mix.
Thanks. I've got a lot new tools and experience for mixing and mastering these past 4 months. I will do a new mix one day. Probably re-record everything while I'm at it.
This sounds awesome, I really enjoyed the momentum of the piece. I think with a bit of love in the mixing/mastering, this could shine even more.
At times I think it suffers from either being too loud or being too compressed - considering I can hear distortion at times, I think maybe it's too loud. Try backing off from the limiter by a few db and maybe leaving 0.7db headroom after your final limiter to allow for digital to analog conversion errors (usually makes mp3s come out 0.5 db louder or so, causing unwanted distortion).
