Damn this is pretty *s w e e t*, mind if I use this for an animation :3
Finally finished this project. Took a while. Also one of my first projects using Pro-L. It's an amazing plugin for mastering and loudness, a little easy to go overboard with too though.
runtime: 4:24 @90bpm
mood: plaintive, steady love song.
Instruments and plugins:
Vocoder - Reactor 5 + Razor: I used two tracks for this for the high and low since Razor's tracking is garbage when it comes to polyphonic portamento.
Kick and Snare - Some samples I had lying around from a library I bought a while ago, processed to hell and back.
Pad - Massive custom patch
ePiano - Believe it or not the MDA free electric piano sounds surprising awesome for such a simple plugin. Spaced it out with a small reverb from NI RC 24
Bass - More massive custom patches
Mastering:
Pro-L and Transient Master, as well as Waves C1 stereo comp.
Lyrics:
Can I tell you?
My love
What's on my mind.
I never found true love and now I'm out of time.
Can you tell me?
My love.
Where are you now?
I spent my life searching but now you can't be found.
The first few years of life I spent was just learning all the ropes,
I wasted them off chasing lies and learning stupid jokes.
The next few years I waited here, hoping you would come
So I could give you all my love, and maybe you would give me some.
When that fell through I searched for you, but then it was too late
cause now you're gone and I'm too old so I guess that this is fate.
I spent my last few years alone, writing you this song,
waiting, wishing, wasting here, wonder how it went so wrong.
Now there's nothing left but wires, silicon and noise,
Speakers beat behind four walls but sound like broken toys.
But I'm still here in this machine, singing you this song
For all of time I'm waiting here with hope you'd sing along.
Can you love a monitor? or can you love a screen?
Can you hear my heartbeat in the melody they sing?
Can you feel my digital love still beating in this song?
Tell me dear, I cannot hear where did it go so wrong?
Can you tell me?
my love
Where are you now?
I hope my stupid song finds you... somehow.

The robotic vibes are strong with that playful melody. In my opinion,I think you should add a modulated Soundscape Chord for the background to provide more movement.Nice little robotic beat tho :)
Hey, thanks for the feedback! The soundscape idea is good, but I felt the track was already getting a little busy with the other elements and I really wanted to preserve the intimate feel of the track.
