With only 6 days to make a song, I did my best and made one of my most personal songs yet. I tried to really tell a story with this one. If you want to leave it up to interpretation by all means please do, simply skip this. If not, here is a goodbye to aurum:

Everything is new everything is good
Aurum calls to me and we become one
We dance fairly well I step on her foot and she steps on mine, but all is good.
Unfortunately, something is wrong I can sense. Shit yeah somethings wrong.
Oh well.
We go back to dancing and we dance all night. Feels like that something never was a thing and I know for a fact that this is good.

"Yeah this is good" I say, as we set out for the next night.
Im sure she senses the tension too but she still seems to be giving her all so i guess we're good.
Dancing again feels nice. I step on her toes and she steps on mine but I dont particularly

"..."

as she walks away and im still here im still me nothing has changed since the beginning. I swear i think i can still here her calling in the background, but thats not happening again, no matter how much i call back. goodbye, aurum.

we did, i think, good.

Song details:
BPM: 128
Key: I experimented with poly-tonality, theres a clear key change in the song from G Maj to D min, but if you listen for it you can hear bits of D min all throughout the track. then, the piano plays D min at the end while the strings are in G maj. I have no orchestral background so i just did what i thought fit my story. question and response type stuff.

The last 8 notes pay homage two of my favorite scenes from my favorite movie. I thought that the scenes really encompassed the feeling and story the song gives. Props to you if you guess them.

Other producer info:
most songs normally take me a minimum of three weeks to make and i had under a week to do this, so i understand the mix and master aint the best. If you're hearing me for the first time mixing and mastering are normally things I put a ton of time into and really try and get right, but I just didnt have the time here. Im thinking I may re-release this as with those things improved. thanks yall for understanding, and please, check out more of my stuff if you liked this

I like the emotional quality of the piano at the beginning. It’s a little hard to discern where one phrase stops and the next phrase starts sometimes, and the piece is a little slow to progress. I thought the sound effect at 1:01 was a bit ominous, but then you immediately return to a tranquil vibe at 1:07. I was further thrown off by the rather danceable vibe at 1:22. The breakdown at 1:53 was nice, and I like the more gradual climax back into 2:37. That said, the intensity of the build-up doesn’t really fit with the more mellow vibe of the part at 2:37. Even at the climaxes, though, this piece still sounds pretty minimalistic, and I think you could’ve done more to channel the emotion during the middle section, starting with smoother transitions throughout. The pause at 3:30, while thematically relevant, was a bit awkward, and the piano at 3:45 doesn’t feel very well-integrated into the passage before it. I liked the emotional appeal of the last minute. You have a good sense of harmony and rhythm, but I think progression is something to focus on going forward. The choppy arrangement is hurting this piece more than anything else imo. The production quality is strong, although I thought the drums were a tad over-compressed. Still, nice job with the mood, sound design, atmosphere, and harmonic content here. Keep at it, TheMajician! :)

TheMajician responds:

I did my best for the five or six days i had, while knowing no music theory lol. Thank you so much for the in depth review!

Good longing feeling from that piano and waterfall. nice progression. This is a light hearted thunderstorm of a song. That beat though... ooooh guitar too? I love the second build so much!
The second half loses me a little bit but good walking away sfx. You tell a beautiful story.

TheMajician responds:

Thanks!

Oh my God, you have talent, you are talented, in all seriousness ... It’s really interesting, to go crazy ... Keep on doing this, I'm just in shock ... :0

TheMajician responds:

Dang man thank you so much!

Cool song! :^]

TheMajician responds:

Thanks!
