If I could give 100 stars, I would do it. This is truly a masterpiece! I love this song.

This song stemmed from a collaboration with @Lilaa, who writes and draws -- but this is the first of her writings to be in song form. @ChazDude approached me some months ago, because he'd recommended me for this song -- he knew Lilaa before I did -- and put me contact with her.
Lilaa hoped that this song would get done before Friday 2 August, because (to my recollection) she has dedicated this song to a friend of hers, whose birthday falls on that day. The song is part of a fantasy story that Lilaa has written.
The lyrics are hers; I composed the music, recorded vocals and what rudimentary chords I knew on mandolin, and added anacrusis to make the stresses fall naturally and help them roll off the tongue easier. Owing to the fact that I'm still waiting for my copy of VSCO2, the harpsichord was done on Sytrus while the other instruments were soundfonts.
The melody came to me painstakingly at first, but after that, it was such a joy to expand and complete. Yes, it's significantly lower key than my previous song, Stormfall, but I think it's really nice to do things like these often. It is my hope that the melody is infectious enough to pick up and sing; it'd make me really pleased if I find that this song has somehow passed the whistle test.

What does the wolf get married to?
What kind of beast will a proud wolf woe?
He is a lord in the quiet woods,
Raw flesh and blood are his only foods.
Will he be wed to the yellow snake,
Who with its fangs, twirls around the stake?
No, for the yellow snake is small,
A coward who curls up into a ball.
Who fears men’s eagles in the sky?
Ne'er would a wolf ever be so shy.
Would the wolf e'er love a gentle doe?
Could she ever live by her ancient foe?
No, for the doe must run away.
The wolf would relentlessly chase his prey.
A doe to a wolf is sustenance,
Together, never shall they dance.
Oh, will the wolf now romance a dolphin,
Lady of the sea, blue head to fin?
The great wolf but a short way swims,
He doesn’t care for a dolphin’s whims.
Na na na na na na na na na na...
The sea and the sand ever humour him,
The High Lord Wolf is always grim.
What does the wolf get married to?
What kind of beast will a proud wolf woe?
A wolf always keeps his own company,
By a wolf’s side a wolf must be,
His bride might appear heavily disguised,
Don't let a wolf ever trick your eyes.

really beautiful can't say more <3
Beautiful composition. A very cool combo between serene and heroic.
The harpsichord is delightful and the choir segment is where the goosebumps hit.
So good.
Calm and catchy, great work. Glad to have had a hand in helping it exist :)
I'm glad I listened to you on this one :D Thank you!

I did use both; the primary instrument in the background is indeed a harpsichord, but there was also a subtle guitar and a subtle mandolin in the softer parts of the piece.
No guarantee of how catchy the next one might be, but I'll see what can be done about it. Glad you enjoyed this one!
