"Three expert punks find themselves at odds with the law after getting ratted out on their way to deliver some product. The thing is though, they're explicitly the only three who know about their route. A route they've been using for months with no issue; It should of been utterly impossible to discover... Unless one of these three ratted themselves out, but why?
Guess they must of been bored."

In this track I tried something new and experimented with FM synthesis for the bass which really gave me some cool ass sounds.
Sampled a Siren passing by and a car revving through a bridge tunnel. Chopped them both up and delayed the siren with a pan to make it c00l.
Also layered some car door slams into it, all to just represent the sounds in that situation.

Overall I like how to me it feels silly yet serious, which is exactly the vibe I got from the art piece. Feedback is welcome, I've never made anything quite like this.

Solid

This here was really solid and you really drive up the vibe on this one i love your style on this i did think the ending could use more of a thrill or climax but overall i found this whole piece to be pretty solid so fantastic job on this tune.

nice

I like the grouchy bass at the beginning and the ominous-sound chord progression and sound design. There’s a good sense of build into :37, and despite the minimal texture, the quirky instruments keep things engaging. The bass is a tad heavy, and overall the texture feels a little bottom-heavy, with not a lot of frequencies in the mid-high range. I kept waiting for the texture to develop a little more, but instead you devolve into this minimalistic, contained-sounding beat at 1:18. I still like the sound design and compositional details, but the harmonies are pretty underwhelming in this piece. The production quality is also strong, despite my complaints about the bass-heavy mix. There’s a bit of a sudden transition at 2:26, but the atmosphere during that section is pretty nice. The racecar sound effect was a nice touch, too, and I like how you chop it up at around the 3-minute mark. This track has some really fun rhythmic ideas, but I also think you needed a bit more fill in the texture sometimes to keep me engaged. The effects are top-notch, but the harmonic aspects of the piece are very bland, and the piece doesn’t have a strong sense of climax, resolve, or conclusion by the end. I’m pretty torn about this piece because it has a lot of potential with the atmosphere and synths, but the execution on the composition wasn’t quite there for me. Even some sort of melodic bridge and a little more emotion towards the end would win you back a lot of these points. Until then, I’d encourage you to keep working on this piece. Provocative stuff here, SroSocial! :)

Thanks for the critique my guy. You're definitely right my structure and textures are lacking big time. I've recently been working more on improving them and I gotta say it makes a HUGE difference.

Could definitely see this working in a chase scene or similar! Great vibe, especially with the first parts. Great bass too. Really gets you in the groove; pumps you up, though it ends a bit abruptly, and gets a bit monotone as it goes. Waiting for something unexpected towards the end but it follows suit all the way.

this is really awesome. I'm so glad you're inspired by my artwork.

sro responds:

Thank you! You've got a great style man, hope to see more of it so I can be even more inspired lol
