On to the second experiment: Rainbow Resort! I always liked that one for being such a fun valse-like track. Really fits the whole "floating in the sky" vibe the levels with that music usually have. Anyway! Time to begin.
•Oh my god, the drums. Right at the beginning, the drums. Fantastic idea. That, and whatever instrument you're using that mimicks clapping, in a way, which really gives a great rhythm to the entire piece.
•Once again, slower than the original, but at this point just stick with that, it clearly works as you intend to! The overall orchestration respects the original tune as expected, but fun little additions like that bit at from 1:51 to 2:03 is what *makes* remixes or covers like yours so enjoyable. Liberties, y'know? It's especially important with Kirby, considering that the entire themes of these games usually relate to dreams and nightmares, so adding a bit of your take on that is... again, expected. But eh, you're a musician, you know this much already XD
•2:20 Oooh, ominous build-up! That, too, was unexpected - and I'm glad to see that you can still consistently pull off things like this.
•And that's it! Haha, I guess my lack of technical knowledge really is showing, but that's just fine! If needed, I think I'll make a few friends listen to your tracks and see what knowledge *they* can bring to the table, so that I can then learn to comment better. I'm more of a writer than anything else (IN CASE *THAT* WASN'T OBVIOUS XD), so I'm doin' my best. Overall, I enjoy this experiment of yours because it still has your style all over it, is a bit different than what I've heard of Rainbow Resort so far, and the few surprises I commented above are pleasant enough for me to download this piece and want to listen to it again.
Hurray for a satisfied pair of ears!
