Overture was inspired by the sound of lounge lizard vst, that rhodes simulator makes me feel like I'm being given a cozy hug. The beggining has this vocal sample saying quedate, quedate hoy no te vayas de la fiesta and I pictured it as a party that's ending, everybody's going to bed but this guy opens up his computer and plays this song, giving the party one last stance.

The main sample for Gripe had been lying around for quite a while on my computer, it had this corky drum beat with it and I'd ocasionally play it out to friends. Then one day I was like, hey, I should do something with this, and I had this idea of remixing a song with different pseudonyms, so that's what I did; Kurt Gödel, Ben Japon and 199X remix, the funny thing is, there's no original mix.

Montaña Rosa, I don't know where that melody came from, prolly from me just playing around on the piano but the name has this cheesy thing that it rhymes with montaña rusa and that's exactly how I pictured it, a rollercoaster going up a pink mountain. I love to play this song at the end of my sets, I'll just loop it, go out for a drink of water and come back to see if there's anyone left in the room.

I don't think Nadando En Mierda would have been the song it is if it weren't for the music video but I remember finishing the song and sending it to my friend ailin and going like, hey! look what I just did! this has little to no melody, I'm getting better at this dance music production thing!

I have no memory of sitting down (or standing up) and making that song but for some reason I left the main vocals muted so I'd play the song and sing over it like if it were a karaoke track. I played it at this small venue to a couple of friends and they cracked up the moment they heard the tinder la muerte del amor line. I don't know, I guess I never really understood how tinder worked, I'd just upload pictures of my guitar pedals and wait for girls to come running over, needless to say that never happened.

As to the artwurk: I'd been wanting to do this spaceship sleeping quarters scene for a while now and I had, for some reason, this image of a pool with light streaming out of it, then I just went on and searched vaporwave room and got this images of rooms with acrylic furniture, furry rags and 2000's macintosh computers, so I did that. Then I had this huge window in the room through which the character looked through and I had no idea what to put outside, it had to be space but I didn't want some nasa picture of the milky way so I went on newgrounds and found this pixel galaxy game were you had to avoid these red bombs with your mouse. I recorded the screen, made a loop out of it and pasted it on the outside of the window and voilá! I had my vaporwave space interior scene. I'm happy with it. It took about 30 hours to render the final shot on cycles but it worked out ok.

Conclusion, it's a very well balanced release. It has its fair share of experimentation but still is gentle on the eardrums.
Twenty two, two times two.
