I think my only gripe was that I was expecting a bit of a climax in that last 30 seconds or so. I was really feeling the story behind the music as I followed along, and expected you to maybe drop a little base or ramp things up a little as this sorcerer of legend shows his awesomeness. In spite of that, I liked it quite a bit!

ChronoNomad responds:

I hear ya, but with stuff like this, even when I have my own ideas from the get-go, it tends to write itself. The climax for the song really begins to build at about 1:54, and it hits right around 2:20, shortly after which I start to incorporate the reprise of "Apprentice to the Arts."

In actuality, "The Sorcerer of Legend" is more about how the story continues to unfold even after the music ends. But that's the subjective nature of music: while it means one thing to me, it can be interpreted differently by the listener. And while the music has to end somewhere, just like any good tale, it continues on even once you've reached the finale.

good! :)

ChronoNomad responds:

Pixel magic! I really like the journey you lay out for us in the music. I can hear each step of the way. It's a fun and energetic song! :)

ChronoNomad responds:

Pixel magic, indeed! :D So very glad to hear that you enjoy the journey, shouKawa. Thanks for coming along on this magical excursion, and your review is greatly appreciated.

Your song just had me sitting there like ... "Wow."

Great stuff!

ChronoNomad responds:

Really glad you like it, TheFerridge! "Wow" is a pretty fantastic compliment that pretty much says it all. Thanks for the review, man.

haha it reminds me of my childhood for sure - love the amt of reverb used on it - and the arp in the bg- and the stutter effect I loved so much as a kid :)

Great use of panning too!

I like the little story you wove through it :)

kinda reminds me of the 7th saga for snes :)

also congrats on the frontpage!

ChronoNomad responds:

Awesome! Thanks so much for the review, Shawn.

There's a lot of classic RPG influence incorporated here, to be sure. The 7th Saga is such a great game with a really memorable soundtrack, so that comparison really makes me smile. The arp and stutter effects are more Final Fantasy-inspired, so I suppose it comes as little surprise that you're as much a fan as I am. :D

Your reviews are always thoroughly appreciated. So glad that you enjoy my musical story.
