Long time no chat, bro. I really dig where this is going and I can hear a fretless stringed instrument (something ethnic) doing some slow Glissandos and Portamentos, almost like it is dancing. Combat can often be like a dance. You already have a type of pipe flute in there and it makes sense with the theme. Keep it up!

This is a little piece of music that I created with my Duduk and then added some taikos from garage band on my iPhone. I then used EW composer cloud to emphasize the rhythmic motif that I wanted. I want suggestions as to what other sounds I could use to give it more of a battle and warrior atmosphere without taking attention away from the drums.

Thinking a plucked Japanese instrument (like a koto or shamisen) would fit in just about anywhere in this number, and you could play them off the drums nicely since they are somewhat percussive themselves.
this has an awesome feel to it already though, good stuff.
