Yashima is a pirate-themed piece. The beginning is very atmospheric and is most of all characterised by the use of a Bawu, a Guzheng and an Erhu. These chinese instruments can be heard throughout the whole piece. After about a minute the music becomes more rythmic. The atmosphere gets more gloomy and eventually leads to a typical pirat-y melody. All in all the piece quite dramatic and action-packed.
