Link hooks up with a topless beach babe, gets drunk and goes sailing.

So someone told me to get a switch and breath of the wild because it's awesome apparently. So that inspired me to start this piece.

This is my progress. It's supposed to be reminiscent of the old 8 and 16 bit zelda and rpg type games. Am about 50% happy with this so far. So I consider it about 50% done. Although I don't think I will make it any longer than present, I will add some variation to the secondary melody and main bass lines. Add some more 8 bit ocean sounds. probably by manipulating some recorded static from my old non-digital radio. I might also make the lead's tone a bit less sea sick. And finally, give it a better mix (this one's probably a good bit raw still). Might also try to come up with a better title, heh.

Just listening now, I think I will repeat the first section before the end to give the piece better continuity. perhaps splitting the pads section up, cutting the last quarter and saving it for right before the end vamp. Fading the main theme in in between the first 3/4s of the pads section and the last quarter. then fading out with some bit type ocean sounds before the final crunchy bit sounds heard at the very beginning and end of the tune. I will probably add some more delayed melody lines during the last of the 3/4s pad section. umm, something like that.

Feedback welcome. Will have the full list of instruments used when I post the final version.

Peace.

Overall, very nice samples, and great quality in the sound mix. Reminds me of David Wise (DKC composer). I personally feel the song takes a bit too long to get started, as it was too blank for too long for my tastes. Once it gets going it's great stuff. Sometimes it's better to go shorter than to stretch out to get a longer time on your song. I feel a few other times the action drops a bit too much. I do get that this is an ambient track. And for the record, what I am saying is only minor stuff.

Great song, wonderful atmosphere. Just a little drawn out at times (especially the intro/outro).

Midnights-Ocean responds:

hey thanks for the feedback. I appreciate it. did you listen to the latest version? https://www.newgrounds.com/audio/listen/797011 I think I made it worse in regards to length, lol. This originally was going to be a real short, like 2 minute thing but it kept building. latest version is like 10 minutes @.@; but yeah, it is ambient. goes with the territory I guess. Maybe I'll make a short version consisting of just the main theme, if people keep saying it's too slow/long. Thanks again! very helpful to have feedback. :)
