I can't pick apart the bass from the melody, I can barely make out the percussion at times, and this honestly started to give me a headache.

There's potential, but you need to take out the grainy sweeping tones, those are what make it hard to listen to. Focus on cleaning up your composition.

I recommend that you go and listen to some old NES soundtracks. Take note of how they had to work around the limitations of the hardware. If you tried to run this song on the NES, the hardware would cry, and you would hear your song cut out constantly.
