~SW~ 8 Bars

Hey guys, so. I was challenged by a friend to make a piece of music with a chord progression they sent me. I sent one to them, too. It was a little friendly exchange. Less than 3 hours later, I finished this. I thought it was pretty good, too. So... You guys get to hear it too, yay!

It is called "8 bars" because that was the length of the original progression. I extended that to 12 and repeated it 2 and 2/3 times to make this. Bass and lead played by me, drums sequenced by me, all instruments from omnisphere aside from the random drum samples I had lying around.

Enjoy!

the bass reminds me of Alix Perez & EPROM - Chiron

I love the idea you and your friend had with sharing a progression and writing a song with it -- I'd enjoy doing the same with you some time!

Really cool track! That bass is juicy and fat and gritty and a tiny bit ugly (I mean that in a good way!) and I dig it. I also enjoy what you did with synth and getting it to sound guitar-y.

Great job, Skye! :D

SkyeWint responds:

Woo distorted bass! :D

Also, just put some overdrive and vibrato on a mod wheel for the synth so that it would distort like a guitar at will.
