A Whiter Shade Of Pale - Brass Arrangement

Author Comments

A brass cover of the famous song by the rock band "Procol Harum", based on an arrangement by Jan van Kraeydonck.
Unlike the arrangement by Jan van Kraeydonck, I kept the original tonality of the song.
Mihai Sorohan on trumpet, flugelhorn and trombone.

Reviews

Great work as usual, Mihai. Curious how you handle switching between trumpet/flugel and trombone embouchures. Do you find that it causes you problems? I play trumpet and own a trombone, would love to learn. Seems harder switching from trombone --> trumpet than the other way around for me.

My trumpet teacher kept telling me to not switch between different sizes of trumpet mouthpieces, because it's bad... but he was an idiot.
I switch between mouthpieces even during one tune, if I need different tone. Switching between instruments it's a bit different. From trumpet to trombone for me it's more problematic, I need 2-3 minutes to adjust. In those 2-3 minutes I have very thin and weak tone. The other way around feels weird, but actually I notice an improved tone if I practice on trombone. More "meaty" sound and faster response.
