Wow, really cute song with nice vocals :D
I know, I know. It's been a while. But this project is the culmination of over a year's journey! I wrote most of the lyrics, as well as the main melody, in January 2017 for a music composition class. I wanted to flesh it out with instruments in Logic, but some other projects took precedent at the time. Unfortunately, I couldn't remember all the original lyrics by the time I got to writing them down in October or so, but I'm pretty happy with this result. My vocals aren't perfect, as usual, but I hope this at least passes as an excuse for not posting much on NG so far this year. The bell riff that plays during the chorus is a transposed version of the post-chorus from Calvin Harris' "Feel So Close," which I recreated in Logic Pro X.
The premise of the song is that it's snowing in Los Angeles for the first time since 1962 (which is based on truth: it hasn't snowed in downtown L.A. since then). So when L.A. finally DOES snap its streak of snowless years, I expect this to be blasted from all corners of the city. Let's make it happen, Angelenos! Anyway, I'm rambling. Thanks so much for listening! ^^
LYRICS:
It’s snowing in L.A.
First time since Kennedy.
The land of palm trees and swimming pools.
First time since man on the moon.
The whole city stopped and stared
‘cause mischief is common but magic is rare.
For big egos, small’s overdue.
First time since ’62.
And no one knows exactly when it starts
But the lovers walking by in Lincoln Park
Singing “doesn’t it just make you wanna get married?”
Meanwhile Jessica Simpson’s Chihuahua got buried.
[Refrain]
Snow in L.A. doesn’t last long.
Sun over the mountains like a swan song.
Another 56 years and then,
We’ll be in the nursing home, children again.
It’s snowing in L.A.
First time since Kennedy.
The land of palm trees and swimming pools.
And then we beat the Russians to the moon!
[Refrain]
Wow, really cute song with nice vocals :D
