I set out to write an 80s style synthpop song, kinda like something you'd hear at the beginning of a VHS Instructional Video. I had trouble finding cheesy synth sounds, so I utilized a sega genesis vst. Then I put a bit crusher on the drums to give it an 8bit PCM sound, and put a lowpass filter on the master at around 11khz to emulate a 22khz sample rate. I also used FM8 by NI a bit here and there, and 3xosc for layered goodness.
