I need to say: simply marvelous!!
And I find you in spotity: you have very good stuff man! I hope you keep/continue with the good work
Hey everyone. Here's an unreleased song from 2015 that was originally going to be on my debut album "Christopher Tom" - there was initially supposed to be a bit of a lighthouse theme going on. This is one of two lighthouse-centered songs from 2015.

LYRICS:
This tall white citadel towers over me
Standing strong alongside the old willow tree
Even after all of these years
Its light still shines bright and crystal clear
The lighthouse keeper still hasn't given up hope
He says it's his faith, but I get the feeling it's something more
He had big plans and he had big dreams
For things bigger than anyone had ever seen
He had a piano tucked in his basement
He could not find the 'C'
All he has left is his songs
That are forgotten immediately
The lighthouse keeper still hasn't given up hope
He says it's his faith, but I get the feeling it's something more
He had big plans and he had big dreams
For things bigger than anyone had ever seen
[Acoustic Guitar Solo]
The lighthouse keeper still hasn't given up hope
He says it's his faith, but I get the feeling it's something more
He had big plans and he had big dreams
For things bigger than anyone had ever seen
I need to say: simply marvelous!!
And I find you in spotity: you have very good stuff man! I hope you keep/continue with the good work
Thank you!

~~THINGS TO IMPROVE ON~~
Honestly this was fine as is really good quality here.

I really like the lyrics and guitar here, and the vibe overall... feels melancholy but grand, ancient, inspiring, a simple story told in a surprisingly forthcoming way. When it started out I didn't really hear all the words, but either you gain clarity as you go or I get better at hearing. I like the the flow of the words, not all like traditional song, but jumpy and emphasized in a way that seems to play with a melody of its own alongside the instruments. Really nice tune. Feels like I could just keep looping this over and over... it definitely does have a Wonderwall feeling too, now that I read it! Great work. You have a perfect voice for this type of story-telling music too.

Oh, I remember this. Reminds me of Wonderwall -- probably the style of delivery and the relative chord progression. Good for a demo, but the mixing and vocal delivery are your weakest point. If singing out in that range is hard for you, I'd just capo the guitars, and port any electronic instruments into the right key. Vocals need harder compression. Track as a whole could use less reverb. I'd like the guitar doubletracked in the left and right with a chorus, the drums panned a little better, bass centered.
Thanks! I've definitely improved on the mixing aspect of things, I hope. I totally get what you mean about the reverb, and my vocals would sound better if I transposed it up several keys.
Oh and the Wonderwall thing - Oasis is among one of my favorite bands and they've got several songs with those types of progressions, so it's definitely something I picked up from them.
Good music, terrible mixing.
Please contact me if you would like to use this in a project. We can discuss the details.
