I really enjoy the way this builds upon itself as it progresses, staying consistent but not the same.
This is something I've been sitting on for over 5 years (yes, five!).
I finally found it again and decided to revamp it with my new sound library, and ended up writing a pizzicato movement at the end, too. All the changes really brought the piece alive.
All this with only cello, violas, and a set of vibes, glockenspiel and a music box providing a bell-like sound.
Done in FL Studio 12
Plugins/Sound Libraries: EW Symphonic Orchestra GoldX, EW Hollywood Orchestral Percussion GoldX, EW Goliath.

Comments welcome! And if you like it, don't forget to *hit play* (if you haven't yet), then a 4 or 5 on the left to rate!
Enjoy!

Thanks for the comment! I'm glad you enjoyed this :)
This is one of those pieces where I wrote a section (the legato part), enjoyed it a lot, and then got stuck, as didn't want to soil the entirety by making sub-par additions. And so it lay dormant for 5 years until I got up the courage to finish it, revamping the instrumentation and adding the pizzicato (to stave off potential wear of constant legato on the ear). The magic really happens by the lead violas interacting with the rest of the instruments' melodies and harmonies - that's why it all sounds fresh throughout while being familiar/consistent! For the pizzicato, I reused the cello from the legato part to unify the new addition with the rest of the piece. I do think it helped that I have better tools and a lot more experience to finish this than I did at the beginning of this journey of a piece.
