I originally used all synths, but to shift to actual instruments took time in order for the texture to sound right (to me), as a result I'm surprised at how much I enjoyed using horns and the metal pad along with some instruments I already planned on using such as an organ, (and a Viola or violin, I forgot) a synth reverse symbol thingy (for the percussion), and a couple synths hidden away until more focus on them is apparent near the end of the song.
