This podcast covers the Newgrounds Audio Deathmatch Round of 32, a bit of NGADraMa, the extra day of judging which also extends the next round's deadline, the upcoming Round of 16, and winner's signatures.

It's a little hard to believe that we're already this far along. So many things have happened, and it's been a long road already, but looking back at the past always feels like it all happened in the blink of an eye. Here's to the upcoming Round of 16!

Background Music: Tir Na Nog (ft. etherealwinds) and For The Ones Who Remain True. The former is actually a round-winning entry in the 2013 NGADM, and the latter is from 2015.

Sorry I'm late to the party! I appreciate you doing this Chrono. The smooth, western-sounding piece in the background works well. By around 2:40, I thought the music got a tad distracting, but maybe that's just because @Etherealwinds is so damn good!

I agree that we need a better platform for people making recommendations about the future of the contest. Maybe we should set up a "suggestions and comments" thread after the contest so we can be as receptive as possible to the community's requests. Still, I appreciate the way you addressed those issues here. And personally, I don't think you have anything to apologize for at all. :)

Super impressed that you're making the sigs for the winners yourself, btw. Keep it up with the podcasts/judging/administrating, Chrono! ;)

ChronoNomad responds:

No such thing as being late to a party that quite literally goes on for five whole months! (;

Happy to see another review from you on these silly ol' podcast thingies. I'm glad that you enjoy the background music, and I don't even mind that Jordi's singing distracts a bit from the underlying message. I kept tweaking the volume incrementally, but I just didn't want the song to be too soft, and then the ending always gets so rich and full...ah, well! Six of one, half a dozen of the other, I suppose.

Yeah, I tried to be honest about how problematic that became, but it wasn't even really the nature of the conversation that was ultimately the problem. It was the massive walls of text that were, quite frankly, making the whole thread look downright unattractive. Obviously, if folks want to have water cooler discussions about the NGADM, they can have them in real-time on Discord, or simply make a thread dedicated to it. But hey, if going way off topic is against the rules, it's my responsibility to say something. I may not always do that in the right way, but when tensions are already high for various reasons, even someone with the patience of Mahatma Gandhi would end up taking return fire.

Aw, thanks! I was always planning on making the sigs, and it's feels nice to be able to do a few of the more artsy things for the NGADM. Even though I'm taking a hiatus from making new music during the competition, I still need a creative outlet or two. And hey, you keep up all that judging and administrating that you've been doing, TL! On top of a busy academic life and all that jazz. We must really love the people of Newgrounds, eh? ^__^

I really enjoyed this, Chrono! Thanks for taking the time to make it. I agree that you have a great voice for podcasting. Hope to hear more from you in future rounds!

ChronoNomad responds:

Aw, thanks a bunch, McG! As long as you guys enjoy them, that's enough to keep me making more of them throughout the duration of the Newgrounds Audio Deathmatch. One per round seems to be working out nicely.

And more voice compliments! Jeez, you're all so sweet... I think I'm getting cavities! ;D

This is the first time I'm hearing your podcasts and I loved listening to the whole thing. Your voice is also very relaxing. Should listen to more of them.

ChronoNomad responds:

Please do! I've been making these podcasts since the Auditions, and while it still feels kind of new, I think I'm getting into a solid groove. I also sing, but admittedly most of my vocal tracks on here are collaborations, with a few exceptions like "One of Those Days" from back in 2015.

Thanks for listening, and I really appreciate the quick review! Not the first time someone has said my voice was relaxing. I tend to enjoy reading out loud, but the caveat is that it tends to lull folks to sleep. Good for bedtime, but not so much at other times of the day.

Once again, you've got an insanely good podcast voice xD
Maybe you should consider doing it oustide of the deathmatch too? Well, don't want to put too much work on your table though :p
It's just cool that this site has that feature.

P.S. Nice choice of background music ;)

ChronoNomad responds:

Thanks once again, Lucid! I aim to please. ^__^

I wouldn't mind helping folks out once in a while, especially here on Newgrounds! I generally get paid for voice-over/acting gigs and the like, but donating my time isn't a problem for the right opportunity. Not that I'm all grasping or whatever of course, but a fella needs to eat once in a while, too. (;

Y'know, I was actually pretty surprised the first time I stumbled over the Podcast feature. We may be lacking in a lot of musical genre options, but the VA and Podcast areas seem to be covered.

P.S. Glad you enjoyed the music! In future podcasts, I may start using music other than my own.

johnfn finds it humorous that I've only used my own music, and he's not wrong when he says it would be a great idea to incorporate some actual tracks from the NGADM. But of course my main concern was that doing so could result in others feeling slighted or left out...

Then again, maybe I should just stop being so concerned about what other people may or may not think and simply do what I want! :3
