[verse 1]
Wrinkled sheets on the floor,
These are mine, where are yours?
Let's just flash our fake smiles one last time,
Before we go.
Sick and tired of this shit,
I blacked out, what'd I miss?
Been so long since we've talked 'bout anything
Worth our while

[prechorus]
But it's never enough,
No it's never enough.

[chorus]
so far away,
alone is just a concept
and it's all in our head
so far away,
from where we used to be
if only eyes could see

No it's never enough.

[verse 2]
Look how far we've come
And all the shit we've done
Let's just burn our lungs out one last time,
Before we go.
It gets lonely out there And,
It's alright if you're scared
I need a second to breathe but,
God, there's no air in here.

[prechorus]
But it's never enough,
No it's never enough.

[chorus]
so far away, (theres no air in here)
alone is just a concept
and it's all in our heads
so far away, (there's no air in here)
from where we used to be
if only eyes could see

No it's never enough.
(There's no air in here.)

been putting your r3 track on loop pretty much all day, so decided to drop by this one too. dang man, i feel like you've been putting out really excellent music that's been neglected by participants and judges alike, and it makes me pretty sad. (i mean the whole "you havent left a review in 3 years" thing probably has some effect on that, but still...)

anyway yea i feel like you really hit your stride in r3, but this is pretty freaking great too my friend!

i like this a lot and i'm sad to see your tenure in the NGADM come to a close! this track has more going on than its simple future bass/pop facade lets on. i think the mix feels a little too dense overall, the pads and vocals are heavy on the low-mids and this is especially noticeable just before the last drop @ ~3:05 when the snares come in and the vocal harmonies compound (i loooove this section regardless btw).

otherwise, this is a really well executed future pop track with a fantastic hook and solid production. please keep sharing!

I like the spacious mix and the vocals at the beginning. The lyrics themselves are also enjoyable. The piece is a little slow to develop, and is still rather minimalistic until about the 1-minute mark. The synth that lays out the root of each chord was a little generic. Also, I think you need to enunciate your consonants a little more - “enough” at :49 sounds like “enaaaa.” I like the injection of energy at 1:02, although I think you could’ve used a stronger transition at 1:25. The drop at 1:31 is cool - I like the chopped vocals and rhythmic elements. I think you could’ve left a little more space in the upper range for that hi-hat, though. I think my main problem with the piece overall is that there are long sections of it where you could add a lot more harmonic depth. You’ve set up a nice structural contrast between the verses and refrains, but textural fill and phrasing will help create a lot more variety within the phrases here. Overall, though, I like the themes, mood, and instruments. Keep at it, Steelside! ;)
