This contest was a bit of an exploration for me. I never thought to look for musical inspiration in artwork, but I’m glad I did. I learned a lot from both the art and the making of this piece.
About this song:
I wanted this track to reflect the wonder and magic of the forest initially, then evolve into something more majestic. I chose to keep the bass light through the first half; its absence along with the presence of Violins and Choir gave that wondrous floating feeling I was looking for. Then I slowly built on that with the addition of Brass, Violas, etc.
I originally had a full 6 minutes, but I cut it down because I felt it was too repetitive. Some percussion such as a timpani would have been ideal to add, and perhaps a cymbal here and there. I ultimately decided against it because I felt it would take away from the soft delicacy of the song, and I was already pushing it.
Anyway, hope you enjoy. I put an unhealthy amount of time into it.

Great piece
I'm reminded of the forests in Dragon's Dogma. I'd say you definitely represented the artwork well. The abrupt cut at the end is what takes me out of the experience. Anything else I could say has already been mentioned. Good work!
Your chord choices are exactly what it should be as it creates that sense of exploration and mystery with a optimistic venture. I can't help but think of LOTR; good writing.
Awesome job! I could totally hear this as a soundtrack for a Zelda game or something of the like. Very relaxing and mixed beautifully. Each part has its moment to shine.
Very beautiful. I can really see me frolicking through a magical forest to admire the sheer beauty of nature. Great work!
Thanks for the review! :)
