Sorry for the lame title. I don't have any name in mind for this.

I finally took it upon myself to conduct another "make-it-in-a-day" challenge to see if I still have any writing chops after a long break. Truth be told, I've been looking for an excuse to finally use Impact Soundworks' RP library in a project, so things work out for the best. :)

I had more that I wanted to do with this piece, but I started halfway through the day and had to tinker with computer troubles while writing. I suppose it's fine this way, too. Going back to add more is always a possibility, though I'll probably just end up making any ideas that got scrapped into their own pieces. The whole process usually just ends up creating a medley anyhow.

As with pretty much every piece I've done with this challenge, its nature is orchestral. That is my first and foremost interest, after all. I've yet to formally study orchestration, but I do own a copy of Adler's "Intro to Orchestration", and I have been listening to works of the greats (and my personal favorites) like crazy. I decided to wear my influences in my sleeve while I'm still in this developmental stage. It's a ton of stress off the mind.

Hope you enjoy it!

You are really talented in music composition! I never had the chance to see your profile up to now, and I may say your skills are very impressive. Very nice orchestrations on all of your work. This is the 9th song I listen from you, and I'm never disappointed. I'll keep an eye on your compositions, I love them! Keep up your awesome work! :)
2:06 - I thought you were going on The Simpsons theme :P

5/5 10/10, instant favourite

Deemo-R responds:

Thanks sebastien! Orchestral stuff is really what I aspire to do, so I'm glad you like it! And yeah- my friend who first heard this immediately brought up the Simpsons similarity lol. I had a very linear approach to writing in lydian mode at the time.

I really enjoy your work, too! Keep it up! :D

Really good, especially for just one day of work. Sounds clean. and you have an interesting composition as always, I really like the transition to the part at 1:32. Thanks for sharing, and for mentioning that book! I'll have to check it out

Deemo-R responds:

Thanks man, I always enjoy putting together something orchestral after having a while off of writing since there's usually some ideas floating around in my head.

Samuel Adler's book is a standard that you'll find in most classrooms when it comes to orchestration, and it has a lot of useful information on each instrument. I'd also recommend finding Thomas Goss on Youtube (OrchestrationOnline), as he gives a ton of insight into the world of a professional orchestrator. He even has some videos regarding orchestration texts that you might find useful if you're looking for "the right" book to get! :)

Err.. Not too bad, but why don't you try other styles?

Deemo-R responds:

Sorry, this is one of my all-time favorite styles, so there will probably be a lot more of it to come. I try to keep my studies focused and make things to apply what I've learned, and most of that falls within the realm of orchestral music (although there will be some jazz in the future, too). However, I have always liked drifting around and trying some of everything, so I won't rule out working on something like FP again in the future (since I know that's what a number of people are looking for).

Thanks again for listening, regardless! :)
