Hello everyone! To celebrate Mario's 30th anniversary, I thought it would be appropriate to release an album with music inspired by Mario as well as other Nintendo franchises, including Donkey Kong, The Legend of Zelda and many more. Across the Worlds is meant to portray a soundtrack for a generic make-believe video game platformer. The album art is meant to represent the game that this music would be composed for and as you will probably notice, the album track names and order replicate exactly what is shown in the artwork. The music in this album is intended to be what I would compose if I were to do the music for one or a few of Nintendo's game franchises. Although the feel of the music isn't spot on to Nintendo at all times, it always remained my main source of inspiration during my composing.
Thanks for listening :)

Has a dark and dramarical atmosphere - I like it. Especially how the melody builds up to the end is so awesome, like the other friend said it would perfectly fit in something heavy dramatical or to an overpowered epic boss. The mixing is really really brilliant, I wish I could handle it like you too. Very good :)

stunkel responds:

Thanks! This track was actually probably my least favorite on the album, but I'm really glad that so many people on newgrounds enjoy it. I probably spent the most time on this track, and I think it definitely fits the vibe that you mentioned. Thanks for the review c:

Alright. So I usually never download anything that's available online, just because I mostly listen to music when I'm already on my computer. But this album has been so good, and this song especially has convinced me that I should definitely make an exception for this one, while it's currently so readily available. This track is right up my alley. The atmosphere is brilliant, with all the snares and strings, but especially because of the harmonies and progressions you're using. The mixing is great, but what I love most of all, are those horns. The are wonderful!

I see that the name is "Castle Theme", but while I definitely get the Dark Castle vibe, I also feel that this is a very climatic track (while the tempo isn't necessarily fast), which would fit well in a boss battle of some kind, or at least a more dramatic scene, rather than casual background music. But maybe that's what you had in mind as well :)

Either way, this is a great track, so good job ;)

stunkel responds:

Hey thanks :) Glad that you liked this track in particular. Most people have said that it's their least favorite! The horns are also my favorite part, this track probably went through the most changes and versions out of all of the tracks in the album. I wanted to put more chiptune influence in this track in particular, but it wasn't very easy so it didn't make it in. Thanks for listening and I'm glad you enjoy the album :)
