Reflective Dungeon Theme

Author Comments

This is a song that I composed for a Tune Contest. The theme was to compose a piece for a reflective dungeon that took place underwater/within oneself... a journey to find something within oneself. This is the result.

I hope you enjoy it!

This is pretty cool! The mixing is a little off - sometimes the lead gets buried - but dang, you have a pretty good grasp on theory (or a great ear for good sounding chords :-). The orchestral sound choice, too, is well done - nice use of different string articulations, percussion, bells... all of that tasty stuff. The ending 30 seconds are great. 8

Amazing composition sir, the progression of the track kept me interested the whole way through. I definitely think you captured "a journey to find something within"

LloydeSorrow responds:

Thank you very much, kind sir! I am glad that you enjoyed it!

A journey to find one's own self/something within: captured perfectly!

I love the flow of this song. You nailed it perfectly, start slow and soft, rise, fall, hit heavy at the climax, and wrap it all up with a great resolution (albeit a bit of a sudden one). I feel that this captures the "inner self search" more than an underwater theme, but it does it quite expertly.

I imagine someone walking through a forest path just while thinking about a really heavy issue. This would be pretty fitting for their contemplating journey. Great work!

LloydeSorrow responds:

I'm glad you love the song! I'm glad that you feel it captures "inner self search" expertly!

Thank you for the great review! :)
