This is beautiful man! Fits so well for Level/Stage music and the loop is perfect too!
I love those melodies they are very catchy and I wouldn't mind if I had to play the level that has this music over and over :)

This is my first submission for the Newgrounds Inspired Music Contest, "A Voiceless City". I made this as a looping song for the Stage (Level) Music category.
I always enjoyed the cityscape for the Newgrounds animation "Metropolis Circuit", so I envisioned that as a Streets of Rage-styled level but at nighttime (hence the change to slower-paced music). I also thought it would be interesting if there'd be a moving train in the background throughout the whole stage (I really liked the idea of using a moving train sound effect as a sort of backing percussion). :)
One of the most difficult parts of this was processing different snare drums and white noise to simulate the moving train sound effect. No samples!
EDIT 1 [18th May]:
Changed the background piano throughout to a softer sound to fit better with the chords. Also lowered the volume of the synth which appears around 50 seconds and layered over the other channel with a slightly different synth. Filtered a few of the melody synths and mixed the project a little bit differently.
EDIT 2 [18th June]:
Just tweaked the general volume of some instruments. Made the synth melody around the 53 second mark more of a quiet background melody going on, while the string is the more prominent instrument.

I have to say this might be the best NIM submission to date! The dark vibe is awesome and the synths are very smooth. But it's too quiet for a stage level, I'm almost not be able to capture any action for the game, well unless it's intentional then what can I say? :D
Let's hope for the best result for both of us on NIM!! Cheers!! :D

Thank you. It is a fairly mellow theme for a stage level. I was actually going to make it more of an ambient song to begin with.

The begining is smooth, it is not rushed nor delayed. The piano matches the setting. The drums are perfect piece. Kudos! The length of the song is not that significant, but it must have taken ages to make! The melody is hard to remember, but nonetheless it is an amazing song! (In every review I try to find a few good things and a few bad things about the song.... and I had to listen tho this 3 times to find 1 bad thing....)

Thank you! I agree about the melody. I thought if it's going to be a looping song, I wouldn't want it to get too repetitive, so I opted for a shorter song and a changing melody. :)
