I loved working on this song, it's one of the first songs in a while that I've connected with. I wanted to revisit a song feeling like that of old, while still updating my style and making it better.
If you don't like the intro, I've made a version without the long drum beginning, for those who don't want foreplay and just want to get right into it if you know what I'm sayin :^)
Plus I don't want to upload it here because then it'd be kinda redundant.
EDIT:
I actually added the cut intro version, because I actually think it's better than the original. Enjoy.
EDIT AGAIN:
Gave the song a few tweaks, and holy shit this is almost at 1000! I'm shocked! "O_O"
I feel we can reach 1000 plays!
Common! Let's do it!
Again, you have to clear your cache to listen to the updated version!
EDIT:
DUUUDDE 1000 plays amiright?
Now for 100 DLs!
So close!

Dude, it's been a while. I love the chill mood at the beginning and how you gradually create this climax, although the intro lasted for quite a long time. Those pads and the drums were pretty much the only things going on for the first 1+ minutes of the song. I'd cut it down to 30 seconds max if I were you. Loved your melodies around 1:15 - 1:45, though. The drums themselves were also really good. You may know from my own music that I'm a big fan of crash samples like the ones at :37 (and other places). I also appreciated the melodic development you used around 2:30. The "shake it" vocal sample at 2:54 didn't add much, in my opinion. This seems more like VGM than EDM to me for some reason, and the vocal sample sort of confused the roles/themes of this piece IMO. Still, that's a tiny detail. I want you to work on varying the harmonies and chord progressions a little more in the future, but other than that this is really solid work my friend. You deserved the 1,000+ plays and 100+ DLs. ;D

Thanks for the review! Haha, the reason I put that sample there was to call back to my old song Shake It, I know it didn't sound right but I couldn't resist XD

While it's not particularly outstanding in any way, it's an overall very well rounded and much enjoyable song. It has a little of the feel good vibe the Gorillaz bring across and I think mostly that the electronic instruments took some of its charm. Then again who has an actual synth and a drumkit with everything needed to record so.. :D The concept sure is good and I'll probably download it and listen to it every now and then :) But please consider redoing this if you should ever get the opportunity to record it in a decent studio with organic instruments. I think it might just turn out great!

This was decent

TeraVex responds:

I'll take it!
